So here it is! That elusive day every kid dreams of...SNOW DAY!!! I had forgotten all about the joy of hearing that announcement that included your school on that fine snowy morning. But recently I have a new admiration for the Snow Day. As the "Boss" I get to say when and whenever I want to "take the day off". In reality those words are rarely ever spoken or thought for that matter. Since most everything is on my shoulders (and just for the record, I am not complaining here) the issue is how to control the "juggling act" called my life. Now thanks to the TOFT methodology that it is a priority not to burry myself in one thing or another it seems harder how to figure out what NOT to do! So since Mother Nature has decided to shut down the world (at least my part of it anyway), who am I do usurp her authority?
Not so long ago I thought that the snow would fall just to screw up my day. Now, I see it as a new direction. Finally! Here’s a guilt free chance to catch up on things that normally end up on the bottom of the list. That pile of junk mail, the pile of who knows what on the counter, that mending & ironing, matching socks, etc. Even finishing that book that you now have to start over because you don't remember anything about it or a maybe a bubble bath? The point is that I used to waste more time sulking about what I couldn't do instead of doing something else. Today's schedule has been virtually erased from the plan, but I am still in control! 2 ft. of snow can't stop me! However, there is no way I will be able to convince Toby the Chihuahua to venture out. Good thing that I saved the news paper flyers...
