So I went home yesturday and told my family about this great new book I found. Let me give you a quick run down of the conversation. First off let me set the stage a bit. I have had this book for awhile maybe 3-4 months. I decided to open it up yesturday and I was just so excited about the words I was reading. It was as though Gail wrote some things just for me to read. I am more excited about getting to the mind set stage of things than the physical throw things out. not because I mind throwing things away but because lately I have felt a longing to become the real me and I think this book will be one of the helpers in achieving this.
So here's the conversation. MOM-'I'm so excited about a book I started reading today. It's about getting rid of things that drag you down both mentally and physically. I think this will be great for our family!" 11 YEAR OLD DAUGHTER-'So we have to clean. Again.' MOM-'Its not just about cleaning. It's about changing and becoming better.' DAUGHTER-'So what do we have to do.' MOM-'Well the idea is to go from room to room and get rid of things that don't make you feel good.' DAUGHTER'So...we DO have to clean!!' I giggled then added,'Don't worry! I'M going to start in mine and dads bedroom. The book says I have to throw out 50 things but I'm not sure if thats in my room or our whole house.' DAUGHTER-'OH, IN YOUR ROOM THAT WON'T BE DIFFICULT AT ALL.' I nearly rolled laughing! Shedidn't say it rudely at all in fact she said it almost encouragingly! A voice that said'you go for it mom! you can do it!' So with this kind of encouragement I will begin my quest!! I'm am actually excited to clean my bedroom for the first time in my life! Wish me luck! Here goes......everything!!
