Throw Out Fifty Things

Hello everyone. My name is Paul. My wife, Rhanda, and I moved to Muscat, Oman from Houston, Texas. We thought this would be a clutter releaving experience. Instead, our company showed up at our house with a 40 foot shipping container and the entire Mexican army... Within three days, our entire house, including drawers full of clutter, was boxed, packed, wrapped and stuffed into a 40 foot container from top to bottom and back to front. We are two people who have to live in a five bedroom house simply because we have too much stuff. The problem is that it's expensive stuff and we really do use most of it some of the time, but not all of it all of the time.

What do you do when you have a $3000 63" television that you are still paying for that has a burned out 10 cent part somewhere in the middle of the television and there is nobody who can or will fix it?

I downloaded the audiobook version of this book and I'm currently listening to it. I've also ordered the paperback version of this book on Amazon.

Funny story... Going through all my clutter, I found a book titled "Getting Things Done" that I had never gotten around to reading. I think "Thing number 1" will be this book - just for irony sake...

Paul.

My apologies to you and your wife. As strange as this sounds, there's a valuable lesson in this for all people who have too much stuff: start pitching/giving away so you don't end up in Paul's position. And thanks to Gail for writing such an important book to help people in their de-cluttering lifestyle.
