Throw Out Fifty Things

Newly re-energized to complete my mission to clear out the clutter, I am finding I own much more space than I had previously realized!  Drawer space, cabinet space, CLOSET SPACE, even room space.  I went out to pick up some needed items for my cat and what I found was a plethora of new un-needed items calling my name!  X-mas 75% off, red ticket fashions and MORE!  My old habits kicked in as I began rationalizing why it was a GREAT idea to stock up on purple garland and matching glass ornaments (for a tree that is now back in it's year long storage place),  Several sweaters with scarves attached and miscellaneous tee shirts (to add to the other tops with tags at home).  Some bath products in gift sets with ripped cellophane wrappers (well the stuff is still in perfect condition...).  My cart was filling up and I was no where near the cat food isle.  Then it occurred to me that if I refilled all my new found space with new stuff, I was on my way back down the old path.  I took a deep breath and returned the items to the closest shelf and walked away.  I returned focus moving on to the to the cat food and kitty litter isle and headed to the check out.  The clerk asked me "Did you find everything you needed today?"  "Yes, thank you." I replied.  As I left the store, I took one quick glance back; I saw another woman scoop up the purple garland, ornaments, the sweaters with scarves and the bath gift sets.  I giggled with a silly grin on my face as I wondered where she was going to keep all that stuff?
