So I did not get rid of 50 things yesterday, I only "found" 41 things I was "willing" to part with in and around the kitchen area and they are sitting on the floor in the office awaiting their immanent fate. Let's review, shall we?
1. Disposable utility lighter. Out of fluid. - DISPOSABLE should have been taken to heart sooner.
2. Chopsticks. -again the DISPOSABLE kind.
3. Fire Crackers?
4. Combination lock - forgot combination.
5. Another combination lock - forgot combination (I just don’t consider this in combination with the other combination lock toss away, no pun intended)
6. A white plastic thingy, 3" w/round and square openings.
7. A pair of ear buds. -white is NOT a good color for things you put in your ear.
8. Used gas stove connector. -let's risk blowing up the house to save a few dollars.
9. Used birthday cake candles. -my mother did this. She also washed plastic plates and utensils.
10. Assorted theme plastic disposable drink mixers (unused). -a must have in 1968.
11. Novelty plastic coaster set. -free with any purchase.
12. Wine bottle tux. -stylish bottle wear for xmas.
13. Wine bottle beaded cover? -maybe we got this with the tux.
14. Cigar tin. -It is pretty cool, but won't be worth anything until 2050+
15. Baby pacifier.
16. Pedometer- probably never used.
17. Broken wine stopper cork. -but it's marble! or granite maybe just hard plastic...
18. Wine bottle separators. -you get another one every time you buy two bottles of wine or Champaign.
19. Margarine containers. -used as "Tupperware"
20. Old bank card. -never activated, account closed in 2008
21. One cigar left in pack from 2006
22. Plastic baby bottle liners.
23. Old cell phone.
24. Funeral floral ribbon. -like this was keeping anyone’s memory alive buried in the drawer.
25. Old, expired coupons (complete with folder case).
26. Novelty mints in tin. -appear to be in the shape exclamation points. Must have been an exciting seminar.
27. Snow globe (no water) -no way to refill.
28. Remote car door opener. -for car sold 10 years ago.
29. Puppy tooth in plastic jar. -seemed necessary at the time.
30. Left over wedding favors. -if the people did not want to take them home, they don’t need a home.
31. Broken dishwasher part saved in the replacement part bag. -???
32. Expired pet meds.
33. Black thingy. -may have held something in place at one time...
34. Back to a calculator. -calculator MIA
35. Chewed up yellow crayon.
36. Piece of rock candy. -if dusted might still be ok...
37. Battery. -might still be good, but I am getting desperate at this point.
38. White-out roller. -whiting out part stays inside when you roll.
39. Men's pants Husband found on side of the road. -don't ask.
40. Pop cap with a code. -I could be throwing away a fortune!
41. The piece of paper I made this list on.
I won't review the list every time. I think this was more of a reiteration to me that I wasted WAY too much time "picking out" things to get rid of that didn't matter. Maybe I would have gotten to 50 yesterday if I wasn't being so particular. Half, correction ALL! of this stuff shouldn't have been kept in the first place. Kudos to me that I tossed the paper list of this stuff straight away :) a new me emerging! OK only 59 things to get rid of now today to keep on track...
