Throw Out Fifty Things

I was lucky enough to see Gail Blanke at a WINS event in New York City. I was lucky enough to receive a copy of her book, which really just made my week. I realized that throwing out 50 things wasn't going to be as hard as I thought, I mean, I only have my room for now.

In the process of thinking about the stuff I have that I don't want, I realized that not having that many things is a blessing in disguise. I've always been sort of a person to throw away things I don't want, or giving them away to charity. What attracted me to this book was the clearing of the mental clutter. Unfortunately, or fortunately rather, I have had it rough.

I say that I am fortunate to have had the rough times in life because they've shaped the person I am today.

I am at a point in my life where I feel like there's light at the end of the tunnel. In the spirit of change I'm going to start throwing away some stuff.

Since, I can't get to my room 'till this weekend. I'll start clearing out my Twitter page.

FIRST THING I AM THROWING OUT

1. Tony Robbins from my Twitter page.

Sorry Tony, you're a great guy. I loved you in "Shallow Hal" but I just stopped reading ya.

49 to go

P.S: I laughed out loud when Gail Blanke wrote,in the introduction, about her mother being a Virgo, and that she is an Aquarius.

My boyfriend is a Virgo, and I swear he knows exactly where to find that Krazy Glue stick in his drawer, he knows where each of his shirts are in his drawer and what color they are. I am the not-so-organized Aquarius, and have a way to go.

Well, let's see, my husband, Jim's song is "Break on Through," and "Don't Rain on My Parade" is picking up steam as is "I Will Survive" and "Tiny Dancer." How about "Born to Run?" Anybody else got some ideas out there?

Congratulations on your upcoming graduation, my friend! That's wonderful!

Thank you Gail.

I'm ready to start a new phase of my life, and to let go of the "stuff" that's held me back from moving forward.

I'll be graduating from Grace Institute, in June, and I'm so excited for the wonderful things that are yet to come.

I'm putting together a mixtape for some classmates as a gift, to help them find their song.
Do you have any suggestions of songs that are uplifting/inspirational/motivational?

Thanks.

Karol! I'm so glad you enjoyed the WINS event at McGraw Hill on Friday. I've never seen so many wonderful women in one room.....and I'm so happy you were one of them. It sounds like you're on your way to letting go of anything that would stand in the way of your moving forward. I'm really pleased that my book is helping you. Keep me posted on how you do, will you?
From one Aquarian to another, with affection,
Gail
