Marcel Proust wrote, "The true voyage of discovery consists not in seeking new landscapes but in having new eyes." Spend this week as if you're an alien from a different planet; see everyone and everything in your life as if for the first time. Go from: "I already know everything" to: "I know nothing, my job is to discover all the things that could surprise and delight me. Listen to those you're closest to as if you've never met them before. Thrill to what they tell you and what you learn. Celebrate your discoveries. This is going to be a really, really good week. I'm not kidding.
I agree. I am sometimes surprised to see new things in familiar places. Like driving a road that I have driven everyday for 2 years and noticing an old church that has been there forever. How did I not see it before? My mind is always too busy. I am looking forward to really paying attention this week.
OK, it's not monday, but I really liked this quote. After stumbling across this site, my daughter (13) and I have been motivated to "throw out 50 things" in our home. It grew to 120 thingss, and is still growing. We stopped because the truck was full! Our house isn't messy by any means, but we just have so much stuff! What we can't sell on Ebay or give away is taken to the dump. My new motto is, "An organized closet is a work of art." LOL Truthfully, my mind does feel clearer, calmer. I am a person with baggage, let me tell ya! So this is wonderful, a breakthrough. I see hope. Thank you!!
